It’s been about three weeks that we’ve left Germany and arrived in Boulder, Colorado. There have been a lot of questions about the city, how we’re settling in, the major differences and if Whole Foods is really so amazing ;)

I’ll cover all of those topics in the next weeks. But let me tell you first about the “Magic Package”. It’s not what you think it is…

The “Magic Package” will be issued by an American embassy, in my case the one in Frankfurt and it is crucial for your immigration process. After successfully applying for your immigrant visa, which will then turn into the Green card, you’ll receive a package from the embassy with your passport and all your documents. Those docs are bundled in a sealed envelope, the “Magic Package”.

You are not allowed to open this package, if you do, the visa is not valid anymore. The crazy part? You’ll need to carry this sealed envelope within your personal item/hand luggage the first time you travel to the US, and then hand it over to an immigration officer. Only this officer is allowed to break the seal and say the magic words you’ve been waiting for: “Welcome To America, Sir!”

“One Song Repeat” - I often put on one song on loop while I work out in the gym or go for a run.

Why?

It’s some kind of meditation that put you in a state of trance. You can just go harder, faster, longer, and you loose sense of time - being fully focused on what you’re doing.

We all know about the mental and physical health benefits of deliberate cold water immersion, such as ice bath. But how do we actually do it? The following is a scientifically proven protocol by Dr. Andrew Huberman.

Goal Activate shivering

Step 1 Set the water temperature to a level that will cause shivering after 1-3 mins.

Step 2 Submerge to your shoulder. Once you shiver, stay in the water for another 1-2 mins.

Step 3 Get out and stand next to cold plunge/shower and air dry for 2 mins. You might still shiver.

Step 4 Once you feel the shivering to slow down or stop, get back in the water for round 2. You can perform 2-5 sets of this protocol.
